YES!! YES!! OHH YES!!
I'm back!! Went to
HELL and back again!~
EXAMS are O-V-E-R!!!!!~ Haha, had a few friends bugging me to go update my blog for a while but I kept my promise to myself that I wouldn't until after my exams...Although I can't tell you how many times I came back to this site planning what I would blog next. Hope you guys didn't miss me too much~ =P
Okie, my exams ended on Friday 25th Nov had my 9 a.m. General Physiology paper till 11ish then popped over to my spider lab for a MUCH needed cleaning and feeding session with my babies. Took me like FOUR freaking hours!! I was feeling quite apprehensive as I began my task because I knew I was going to come up with a high death toll figure. *SHAMED* Yes, I neglected my spiders for 2 weeks but but..I gave them alot of food and cleaned their cages before I left them to fate.
De min said I was evil...OoOpPsss
Yah, so anyway we are back on normal terms after my freak ice bitch act, which is a GOOD thing cuz I was agonizing over how mean I was to him. But anyway, he still hasn't properly thanked me for my sandwiches and that VERY IMPT wake-up call so I guess we're even.
Anyway, I only heaved a HUGE sigh all relief after I was done with the last spider..death toll was substantial but not high enough to warrant a panic attack from me. In fact, I was so proud of the surviving darlings that I OVERFED them. I hope nobody from the spider lab reads this blog because I almost obliterated the lab's store of fruit flies (mind you, it's alot) with this feeding. *Cross fingers and whistle* BUT MY SPIDERS DESERVED IT...honestly, i never knew spiders could lose weight and decrease in size because they are SUPPOSED to have HARD exoskeletons that are rigid enough to provide support in a not substantially buoyant medium, resist dessication and other what-nots (I love LSM3261 Life form and function)! BUT I SWEAR...the females' abdomens literally shrank to prepubescent dimensions.
Maybe the males will find them more attractive?
YEAHrite...
Oh and halfway through my feeding session, Prof Li came by and saw me hard at work (wahhaha yes...impressions matter my dears...SCORE!). So, we talked a little and then he asked me how was the Ecology paper (
actually, he teaches this module but for this semester because he had so many overseas trips, Darren Yeo n Hugh Tan were supposed to take over this module entirely. Sadly, an unfortunate thing happened to Prof Tan and I hope he is much better now =) So anyway, Prof Li along with Peter Todd had to teach Prof Tan's part of the module) then I said it should be alright and that his pdf readings on hotspots conservation were extremely useful. Not bootlicking, is truth.
Yeapyeap...hee anyway I was DEAD tired after the marathon session but before you think that I'm SUCH a loSER for working RIGHT after my last paper, READ ON and WEEP u PEASANTS!!!
I watched RENT starring Karen Mok at the Kallang Theatre that SAME night which also happens to be its OPENING NIGHT. Oh I feel so cultured...*Smug*
*Again, another educational update for the uninformed, RENT was having its 10th anniversary stage production since it started in Broadway and Singapore is the first pit stop for the world premiere of this musical tour extraveganza. And I, had the most expensive tickets! Valued at $148, my exclusive circle seat placed me right smack with the other aluminaries of the night. Though these stars weren't all that bright, I still managed to recognise some talent from Singapore's art and acting scene. Hahah, and top it all off, I did not have to pay a SINGLE cent for the ticket!!~ Weiqi's brother, YOU ARE GREAT. Oh yar, and weiqi, you too.*
RENT is an amazing and widely acclaimed musical documenting the lives of friends living in bohemian New York. Wit and heart ruled the staged and it was abound with little twists and turns to titillate, shock and amuse. Might I add, the sets were incredibly detailed and oh my god...I will never look at a table the same way again. Ditto for railings...
The singing was superb, acting was amazing and the dancing and choreography was faultless. Big thumbs up!~ So what quirky characters did we get to add the extra punch...*hrm a starving documentary maker and his ex-gf turned lesbian with her black butch ala Ross Geller
predicament...check...a down and out guitarist waiting for inspiration for that one song who has a hot hot chick called Mimi who wants him to 'light her candle'...check...a drag queen with his..er..her significant other in tow...check...a Pheobe Buffay classic act by a ditzy chick who loves singing about the cow jumping over the mooon...'Nuff said.
Okie...it was just great and if u can afford it, GO WATCH IT!
Ohoh and did I mention that we got to see Karen Mok up close and personal?????!!! ahah we were in the same room as her right after the musical where there was free beer and red wine too i might add =P...there was some interviewing tv station too. Enjoy the pictures...she is really pretty in person... Byt the way, if they are blur its not MY fault..haha

HEEZZZzz....she sang sooooooooooo well..
By the way, I don't think I really explained how I landed my hands on those tickets...they were complimentary tickets given to the art house company that weiqi's enterprising opportunistic (bless him) brother works at. So, her bro and his gf went together while Weiqi, weitzer and yuan wei plus moi went on our own. SHIOOOOKKSssssss!~ Add the fact that weitzer and yuanwei had also just finished their last paper that day too and weiqi finshed hers ages ago, we were in a GREAAAT mood the whole day. Ahaha...weitzer is losing his touch such that me n yw got quite a few 'suans' in...hai my advice to wt...if u gonna buy the ipod just get that goddamn thing already and stop telling us about how we ALL have ipods.
NEXT.
I'm so proud of myself *SMUG x100* It's my mom's birthday soon....same as ASN...anyway, I laboured over her present for 2 days...pouring over albums to put my *exam creativity overdrive to good use (I get brilliant ideas while studying for my exams...i guess the time when i can't do something is the time when i most want to do it! So typical!~).
I chose one photo that i took had potential and just started to do some touch-ups first. Then I just felt like doing some popart stuff and just came up with this templete. I know it may not be much for those who are really into art but cut me some slack cuz i don't even have photoshop...just Picasa and my hp printer. =P
