This is one sixth of the YU SHENG (raw fish salad) that we ordered...there were six plates in all....Haha....One of my uncles was telling me that when some of them were Lao-ing (erm...hard to explain but it involves many pairs of chopstick messing the dish up by pulling it as high as possible) Yu Sheng, they were shouting out all their 4d numbers. Did i mention that my relatives are really into mahjong and 4D...and they have incredible luck with 4D and Toto...always strike 1st or 2nd prize. Anyway,..my Aunty Amy was calling out all the numbers bought by the different people who was also Lao-ing and at the end of it she cried out, JIAK (eat in dialect). Then the rest of the ppl all sian diao cuz they so pantang (malay for superstitious). Cuz...jiak means like all their number kena eaten and wun be winning one...Then my uncle who was telling me the story say, " Then I said...Aiyah...this plate i dun wan already. I go make another plate!" Haha!!

Okie...behold the height difference. A long running joke btw Guobin and me is that he loves to poke fun at my shortness while I'll poke fun at him being old...(ahha ppl cross 30 le...=P whoops...think my sis wud kill me for saying that)

The masses of people.This is the 2nd last house somewhere in Seng Kang....the last one was in Tampines (Uncle Liang's parents' place) and I took the chance to go fetch Diana (Uncle Liang's future wife) from her grandma's place...hee I'm quite close to Diana too cuz she's really cool!~ So pretty and look so young....and somemore I think her career is quite high flying one....my idol~

More ppl (My sister and my cousin Qing Xiang aka Patrick: Extreme left) Long story why he's called Patrick..haha but my mom has the honour of giving him that name. Oh...he just grad from NUS Econs after his 4th year....so...this means that I will never have to chance to bum around in his hostel le....Haha but at least we got to see each other n have lunch a few time while he was still in NUS....By the way.....This year there were so many ppl wearing green in my family lor...ahha everybody kept commenting.....Oh...then I GOT the most compliments ever on the dress and my necklace and my bag!!! So happy!





Some of the cousins in a group photo.......I know you girls would probably be very interested in the guy next to me...He's one of my closer guy cousin..Nicholas...Yes...the same Nic that entered the star idol competition and is in NTU...he's one year older than me...He's really a smooth operator so girls beware...ahah Anyway...I've known him since he was a dorky kid and Diana and me used to try n deflate his ego by telling him that he's actually ugly...ahah at one point he actaully believed me and asked me in hushed tones...really ah?...Buahaha....Anyway...now he's got frens in high places..ahah And even later today...He'd be going to Dick Lee's house for CNY gathering with the rest of the Singapore aluminaries....Bah. Anyway, I will be distantly related to Dick Lee also OKAY? When my Uncle Liang marries Diana (not my cousin la! this Diana is Prof Chou Loke Ming's daughter!! All together now...WAH...) I will be related to Prof Chou...Buahaha and Dick Lee is Diana's cousin or something....ahah SO I will also be related to Dick Lee...BUAhaha...





The girl in the centre is my other cousin lynette...she's now in NYP...was one of the netballers I mentioned earlier but now she's into tennis! Wah..how come my cousins all so active one....I really cmi....Must start going to gym!~

Oh...Diana's asking when we can go on another trip again...ahha We wanna go back to japan again and this time, FIND some authentic outdoor hotsprings. Or at least, when I go for the Work and Travel USA I'd bring her along so that we can have a blast =P

This is the latest addition to the family and she is named after me...RACHEL =P She's my cousin Linda's one month old baby but according to her mum, rachel already has a personality..Hahaha...SOOO CUTE..pinch her cheeks....die...I'm morphing into those cheek-pinching aunties that i fear....

She is christined Mei Ren Yu (Mermaid--if you watched Tong Xing Yuan you'd know what I mean) by my choir pals during my 21st Bdae chalet...courtesy of song nian n zhen jia. =P Note the height difference here. Oh, did I mention that she a really good netball player? I think she was on the under 21 national team or something. And she's not the only netball player in my family. There are at least 2 other girls who are netballers =P.





This is one for the road!~ Haha..Love my eyes....Just sultry enough for daytime and not too shocking for my relatives who seem to know me for my mugging abilities...Hey! I can party also okay!! Am not just a freaking bookworm...Okay...maybe a bookworm..but am NO NERD =P...Hee no offense to anyone though.





My puRty SiSta~~ Any votes on whether she looks more korean or jap? She's got one of the coolest job in the world which involves her jet setting to many countries such as China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia...blahblah...and in her coming trips she'd prob be going to US!~ haha WEIQI!~ I know this is your dream job...and since u r in EY go get to know my sister professionally! Who knows maybe you'd get lucky =P





Me sitting by the fish pond =P Finally!! I get to use my beaded handbag that I bought from Thailand ages ago!!! I've been wanting to use that bag for a long long time now but there was no occasion and even if there was, the bag did not match my outfit so I'm really really glad. Haha, also I got some mileage out of another item that was just lying around collecting dust in my walk-in wadrobe. Although I tot it was a horro when I was first forced to buy it during secondary school, I have grown to accept it as part of my ever expanding accesories collection!~ hah!

Happy Chinese New Year 2006!! My sister n Me just outside our house. It's about 10.30 a.m. and we are on our way to my father's eldest brother's house...Hrmmm a big mouthful. Not sure how to address my uncle dialect...sad...i really cmi. But still, don't you think we look great???!! Okie ppl....I've finally gotten off my butt and decided to post a update on my sudden disappearance.

Am not happy with my increasing laziness and procrastination. Guilt is devouring me.
Need more focus...need to get serious!! Haha!~ I think I'll go steal the Bi4 Sheng4 (Sure Win) jap headband from my pyopyo soft toy =) and tie it on my head while i navigate my way through the mass of journals that I have to read! URGH......so freaking much. Have tons of journals for my spider project.....tons more for my honours project (extra from prof Ip) and still more for my Animal physiology essay that Prof Ip set. Crap...should have chosen the hypoxia one...HAhaha then I dun have to do double the amount of work....BUahaahah~

Sniff....am daydreaming.

Been playing WAY too much. Seen two movies recently but Memoirs of the Geisha was excellent!~ Sooooo nice...Sayuri as a child is sooo pretty....Sweet!~ Then the chair man was hot~

I have very mixed feelings about this...For one thing, I really like rainy days provided i don't have to travel.

But for the greater good, I APPEAL TO THE RAIN GODS! OH MIGHTY RAIN GODS, HEAR YE YOUR HUMBLE INSECT!! I ASK BUT ONE DAY...(PssT..tuesday, which is tomorrow)...ONE DAY THAT YOU REST AND HALT YOUR ARDOUS RAIN-MAKING (*not really related but somehow I'm getting a weird visual of how you are actually creating the rain...not a pretty sight...sneeze droplets...stopstop!! Too much monkey god shows! Besides, I'm getting sidetracked.).

Was merrily about my stuff in the 3rd floor when sounds of...NONO..that's too mild...SHRIEKS of LAUGHTER PERMEATED THE AIR AND UP THE STAIRCASE TO MY ROOM...
then my first instinct was to ignore.....hai....cuz my parents were most prob watching a funny show or something...not amused...cuz am in the midst of serious stuff.

UNTIL i was called downstairs by my gasping dad (note...gasping for air due to TOO MUCH laughter).

I came down with this air of adultness....what foolishness were my parents indulging in now..
Then I saw it....and I couldn't help it...

That my mum and dad were still laughing their heads off didn't help. And I snaped, lost all control and started LAUGHING.

Didn't go to school today...been slacking all day but i need my break without feeling guilty. Heez...

Yesterday went to Ubin to cycle with the usual ppl and to catch spiders...A good harvest esp for yt. Bet she's really smiling now. Pity it kept raining.

Today, went out for a morning walk with my dad to the nature park near my place. So relaxing but the drizzle was starting to get on m nerves...

Am in procrastinating mood now....So much things to do....no impetus to do them.
Except the less important but more enjoyable task of updating my blog. Haha!!

Demo by Yt....A how to guide to spider collecting...oh besides spiders, we got mites, cockroaches, leeches, centipedes, stick insects, caterpillars...........





Think you'd have read my earlier post describing some of the ways we used to find our spiders...this is just the visual...Umbrella with dead leaves and other stuff that we had beaten off using our sticks...This sight drew quite a few curious stares from the passerbys...and during the cameron hike even some angmohs who stopped to talk to us
