After dinner!!! =P hee....I think the girls look so good...=P

next up....this is at suntec...N.Y.D.C....class gathering...Weiqi, Yanhui and Me...ahah our cross is in a *cough* strategic place....Whooops

Whee...we are all so pretty....Hrm who was it was said that we look like we are in bed....haha!~

I know someone would kill me for posting this picture but haha....see got hair clip....so nice...=P

Weiqi....u can't take photos to save ur life....WHY is BLUR one!!....blueh....hai

See my 'ORrrr ZHair'....I have like about ten burises on my legs from the field trip lor~~ So ke lian!~

Hee~~=P

OKIE...now comes the CHRISTMAS photos...i will continue the msia field trip photos another time after I've gotten the rest =P.....ME, WEIQI and HUA HUA...see how radiant we are....This was just after the Vocal consort's caroling. Now we are on the way to Plaza Sing for dinner...

Back at my place!~ I think we both look so blur....=P

CARROT STICKS are GOOD 4 U!!! Frozen carrot sticks are even better!!!!!!! See how funky Prof Li is getting...wahahahhahaha....larf until i wanna cry!

OIC...it's the frozen jambu....Our fridge was too cold....so we had frozen jambu and carrot sticks....actually it was very nice to eat!! haha! Ohhh and cuz Victor doesn't like jambu, it's was really hilarious when PRof Li was trying to entice him into eating the fruit...Prof Li was going, " OHHh sOOOoooo DeliCIOUS!!~ DELICIOUSSSss!!" AIyoooo......

SIR!! wat are u stuffing into your mouth!?!?!?!!!!

OUr messy work table where we slaved our the identification of the jumping spiders...hha unfortunately for the non-jumpers...they were unceremoniously catergorised as 'others'. Me and Eunice had nightmare for the next two days about id-ing spiders....We were so hardworking.....worked until 3 a.m...next morning 8 a.m wake-up...for the entire trip.

At the end of the 2nd day, we arrived at Cameron Highlands at stayed in a GREAT apartment with 3 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, a living room with Astrovision, 3 bedroom and most importantly..RUNNING WATER!...Our shoes are in the balcony drying cuz before we left genting, we went to search for Victor's Taraxella which is even more elusive than yuanting's spiders. Anyway, it just meant that out driver deposited us by the side of the road near Awana hotel altitude. Then, armed with our da gou bang ('dog beating stick') and umbrellas, me, the guys and Prof Li went down the super slippery drain to enter the stream...wet feet whole day....PRUNED FEET... EEEYUCKS.....anyway, Victor had the bright idea of buying newspapers to stuff our shoes with so that they will dry faster. And it's true....by the next morning, my shoes was much much drier...but as it turns out...it would get wet again all too soon. The white stocking like things are actually the leech socks that we koped from the lab....Essentially, aesthetics were abandoned while we were in msia.

Breakfast in Genting....THIS IS THE FREAKING LARGEST DA BAO I HAVE EVER SEEN...see how the dao sar pao look to puny besides it...Victor's hand was there for scale...haha 5 of us shared the bao...

Another picture of the stream closer to where we washed up...But while I was there, The stuff that I did during Ecology LSM3251 kept flashing in my head. We had another field trip to Malaysia where we had to compare the invertebrate diversity in two types of streams, one of which resembles this alot. Took back sand samples to the lab where we had to sift through and find alot of stuff u really didn't want to know existed in the first place....midge flies...hemicoptera..blah blah...not a very comforting thought to be having when u are washing up...

The guys at the stream where we washed up the night before...At night, it was really dark so we had no idea if the water was clean or not...Thus, we decided to double check in the morning...Thank heavens it actually looked quite decent. hehheh~

Morning at Gombak...2nd day...Prof Li having his breakfast...some chocolate i think?

Our bunks....Don't let this picture decieve you...The pink bedsheet was just given to us to cover the grimy mattress. The top bunk only LOOKS white...Oh but as u can see...the originally white pillow looks a moltish GREY! If we look tired, it's because we are....oh....REMEMBER HOW WHITE my CSS windbreaker is by the way....CUZ DEMIN made is BROWN by the end of the trip...SOb....the yellow and blue logo also was peeling off.....Sigh...

ONE OF THE FREAKING BEST PICTURES FROM THE TRIP!!!! hahah Can't believe my Prof is so funny....got pajamas one!!! =) somemore hold toothbrush and toothpaste wor!!

Supper at Gombak....a bag full of 'gao luck' or roasted chestnuts...yumyum. Wonder whats victor pouting about...ahah~! Eunice is the one opposite me. =P

This is still the first night at Genting in the Gombak field station. It is so LAO KOK lor...blueh.... bed full of dust and dead insects...outside is bloodsucking insects ready to kiss you. NO RUNNING WATER SOMEMORE....so no bathing =( but at least I got to wash up in a stream at night...water so cold and refreshing..so fun!! Me and Prof Li 'busying' about with our stuff...hee...the plastic bags are full of spiders!~

EUNICE's PURTY GECKO!~ This was taken on the first night of the trip in Genting. We were all out, armed with headlamps, flashlights and MOST IMPORTANTLY...mosquito repellent!! Out hunting for yuanting's elusive spider when eunice saw this "so pretty!" gecko and just had to take a picture of it. ahha..er...okay =)

me, yuanting and demin. See my plate is so CLEAN! My husband will be very HANDSOME!

First dinner in Genting!! And we had ZHI CHA!! When it comes to food during this trip, we really didn't hold back...almost different cusines each meal. Okie, maybe cusine is too refined but u get the idea. Our food was VARIED!~ how varied, u shall see =). Anyway. Demin and Victor. Victor and Prof Li both have a HUGE chilli addiction...it's scary lor.

Cool spider picture...Not sure who took it though its probably Eunice. Doesn't look like the spider that she is collecting tho,,,but the web in this picture is gorgeous....Hopefully we will be able to go on more field trips soon =p.

Same rest-stop. Demin looks suprised. Bleuh. Haha didn't know that my FBI T-shirt would be such a hit during this trip. Anything wrong also call me to tekan the small-fry customs people. HAha!!

Pictures from the trip!~ This is from the first day somewhere after the customs on our way to Genting. Prof Li looking very funny =). HAha check out his spider t-shirt! He's not the spider-man for nothing!~

breaking all the rules...
So far, i have kept my promise to myself that I would not humiliate my friends on this blog if they ever pissed me off. And so, I have been able to control that urge of slamming that person online because it's always the same person. As far as respect goes, this is my way is showing respect to you as a human being if u are so intent on throwing away friendship.
However, even I have limits to my patience. And believe you me, I'm actually a fire-cracker. If you have ever seen me quarrel with my mother who is also a fire-cracker (and that can be quite frequent..opps), you'd think before tread on my toes. But i rarely quarrel with my friends. This may sound hypocritical but tell me, there are many aspect of you and reasons why you act the way you do in front of different people so everyone is actually a hypocrite because most of us want to be politically correct.
And though I don't want to name the person, i think those closer to me would probably know who I'm referring to. Actually I wanted to break down his blog post into tiny little bits by my OVERWHELMINGLY SUPERIOR sense of justice and logic. But then, I decided that that would give him too much satisfaction that I actually bothered to do so. So I'll just give you some general advice my 'friend'.
First and foremost, your apparently GLEEFUL proclamation about your self-centeredness seem to be your trump card explanation for all the f-up things that you have done. "I am what I am, if you are my friend than you should accept me for what I am." Really....did I mention that I love to take you things without permission and use them until they are just about to spoil before returning it to you and say something like, "actually they are not as good as the ones I have." OH..by the way, you can't strangle me cuz you should know me by now that I'm like that so why are you angry??? In fact, I'm angry that you DUN UNDERSTAND ME AT ALL! Why is life so miserable!!!! WOE IS ME!!!
OKie..I can't help myself....this is turning out to be a parody...wahahaha...maybe I'm a bitch as you said but honey, you only made me laugh.
Okie....you can scold me whatever vulgarities you want but thye won't have any effect because these are just words to me...They do not mean a thing to me because I won't let them.
Wise words: "No one can hurt you unless you give them permission."
These words only hurt you because they came from you. These are words of anger...your anger...not mine. So in the end, "if you dwell on that anger, it will become ingrained".
You have alot of issues that you need to settle before you are presentable to the world so go do some soul-searching and reflect on your behaviour. YOu may want to cry pot calling the kettle black but seriously, no matter which is blacker, there is no denying that the kettle is indeed black. Think before you act, not about yourself but others. If you are unwilling to put other people's happiness before yours, then think about the basic human respect and who you are. Your behaviour reflects your upbringing so unless you are willing to implicate your parents, please grow up.
Lastly, you may not realise it yet or maybe you just oh-so-conveniently forget that the frens you are slamming in your blog are the same people that did not forsake you during your shitty pmsy period and horribly immature treatment. THe same people that you now accuse to be hypocrites for sticking around you even though you know they hate your guts. But seriously, before bandying 'hypocrites' in our faces, don't tell me your 'straight As' brain can't comprehend another reason why we are still around you. Trust me, it's not the personality. Well, at least not the present personality. Why, u ask. I ask, are you really that dense? IT BECAUSE YOU DID NOT USE TO ACT TO FREAKING F-UP LAST TIME AND SO WE DECIDED TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE BASED ON OUR ALMOST DECADE LONG FRIENDSHIP!! And the fact that we are willing to compromise our pride to welcome you back into the group despite your behaviour is not a sign of weakness...we want things to be peaceful. And if that means giving more than taking, so be it. But don't go overboard.
I really hope that you can see the light and cast my words to the wind. After awhile, people will just give up. And my 'friend', I afraid that u are very close to it.
Stuffed to the max~!
Heyo~!
Yesterday(Boxing day!! can someone enlighten me on why it's called this...I have weird visuals whenever I hear this name. Heez) was a BIG day, SUPER tiring!! Glad I changed my mind about going to school to slog over my project. A great start to the day was joining my parents for a walk to the Bukit Batok Nature Reserve at 7 a.m. to enjoy the nice cool air and lush greenery. Tried looking for spiders along the way but sorry YT, I didn't see yours.
After the invigorating walk, it was off to breakfast(chee kui!). Yumyum. Then we hitched a ride back home before setting off again to the Robinsons sale in town. Reached there around eleven plus I think. Wah...freakin crowded sia. Me n my dad overwhelmed by the number of people cramped inside Robinsons...and the queue to the cashier was even more scary. I think got at least 8m snake all around the place...lucky us, we got my dad to be stationed there first while we shopped if not I think I will be so sian diao and not wanna buy anything at all because I hate waiting.
Anyway, after finally paying up, we ate lunch at the Tuktuk Thai outdoor eatery just next to centerpoint. Very nice! Really, I gave up eating my jap food because the aroma of the Thai food was too tempting and I'm not even a big fan of thai food!
Later I met up with weiqi and yanhui who were also doing some window shopping at the other side of town. Poor weiqi 'accidently' bought a bag that she didn't want in the first place and after deducting 10 bucks for topping up her fare card, her assets were down to her last 50 cent. Haha, she even wanted to pawn her bag over to me =P so that she would have money for dinner later at our class gathering. I think yanhui wasn't doing too well either in the money department. haha
And to think, she's working as a intern now at OCBC! The irony.
However, they were still stuck at Far East Plaza so I went over to Heeren first to do my own shopping. And so happy!! I bought 2 CDs!! Finally got my ORANGE RANGE (Natural Album) and Hirakawachi Icchome. Have yet to listen to Orange range yet but am loving Hirakawachi Icchome. They are really great! Love their guitar compositions...makes me feel so carefree and happy. This brother duo act is a japanese neo-folk group with a rather unique sound...slightly sad but relaxing and hopeful. My kind of music =P. I highly recommand this album to anyone who like guitar and wants to chill-out.
Saw loads of other CDs that I wanted to get to but CONTROLCONTROL!! I saw this Suzanne Ciani (can't remember how to spell her name) CD at gramaphone...I played most of her stuff before but hearing the CD just made me see those songs in a more interesting light. Then there's also the new Franz Ferdinand CD...din get to sample those songs tho but there is one song that I like from the new album. Also, The Darkness has a new CD!! SO COOL. They are the ultimate cheese of old school rock bands...freaking funny mtvs with sissors kicks and chest baring costumes. haha! I think i liked the first album better but sad...I think I misplaced the CD...need to search for it...
Oooh did I mention L'arc en ciel???? Do as infinity???? SIGH...I'd be broke before I get all the CDs I want. must. practice. self. control.
********
When I was finally in the company of weiqi and yanhui, flora also soon showed up and we were on our way to marche at suntec. But lucky for us, once we got there, part of the class also felt too poor to risk marche. NYDC cafe then!~
The class outing was quite fun but I dont think it was a success as the message was not passed to everyone and thus only so few of us showed up. However, I'm g;ad i went cuz I got to DRILL peiwen for UPDATES!! Wahahaha.....gossiping time.
Well...she drilled me too..=P
Mingli absorb both sides...bleuh...free loader. haha!
Peiwen, Ming li and me shared an oven baked rice sprinkled with cheese, italian ham and mushrooms (...SIN SIN SIN), so effectively, I only paid about 3 plus for my dinner!! haha so CHEEEEP!
The after dinner program was quite anticlimax....go home. But I'm glad cuz I had to be home by 12 and the next day I was going to school to do work le...so must sleep early.
******
Today, worked my female spiders by making them 'fight' each other.
Then, dinner at LIQUIDS cafe to celebrate my sister's birthday!~ Her boyfriend treat =P. SOOOOOO full. I have sinned non stop since the day I came back from Malaysia. I think I need to trek somemore and lose wt. Have eaten so much melted cheese in almost all my major meals...starting to get quite sick of it.
Tired....tomorrow is another busy day with the spiders...so I guess I'll have to leave my Part II of the Malaysia trip for next time... Will soon be posting LOADSSSSSSSS of pictures too...
Cheerio!~

TriP UpDateZzzz and a merry christmas to you all!!!
Hi people,
I know that I have been missing in action for some time but I was really busy right after I got home from my Spider catching field trip. TA NO SHI DESU NE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Freaking fun!!! I can't remember a time when I enjoyed myself even more while away from home. Am really glad that the the people who went all the trip were all such troopers and that we managed to bond over the trip! Heez Prof Li, Eunice, Victor, De Min and Yuanting plus me seemed to be almost laughing throughout the whole trip. I suddenly have a new light on the level of 'lameness' professors are capable...I think Prof Li is even better than us. *sweatdropz
Part I
17/12/05
Anyway, the six of us meet at 8 am in the morning near the lab where our chartered van was coming to pick us up. Breathed a rather large sigh of relief when I finally realised that Edmund wasn't tagging along. Not that I'm bad but I don't think I can't stand 5 days of someone nian (stick) me. SO, haha happy. Good start.
Along the way to the customs there was a a minor jam but we made the most of it by playing bridge, tai di and 99-points. My Bridge required a HUGE refresher cram course but I'm glad to say that I won a fair number of games during the trip...wahah a! BlUR BLUR also can win but later got strategy leh. =P Prof Li also joined us for a few games and he can play LoR!! Dun praypray wor.
After many rounds of card games and bouts of fitful sleep, we finally reached Genting where we collected 121 of De Min's spiders in just 2 hours! Neobrettus, his spider is tiny, furry and really very cute but it likes to live amongst the dead banana leaves. By the way, the place is in some ulu off-track part somewhere on the the mountain. This was where our driver also demonstrated his superb manouevering skills along the narrow road with a sudden drop on one side.
This being a mosquito cum leech infested place, I came prepared with an arsenal of mosquito repellant and along with the others, had also made plans to purchase some leech socks from the Army market. Unfortunately, we did not manage to get them so me and victor used the only 2 pairs from the lab while yuanting made a makeshift one with old socks, string and safety pins. Wahhs..yt...u are so ping ming! haha did I mention that she also brought a whole arsenal of weapons against leeches? We had heard that a number of stuff was effective against removing leeches and thus in yt's magic pouch, she had: salt solution, vinegar (actually apple cider vinegar), feng yu (medicated oil). My game plan was actually to not get bitten at all but if any of us did get bitten, then we should find out which rememdy is the most effective. HAhaa, last count zero leech bites for YiLin and score 2 for Victor! Apparently, salt water did not work that well (maybe there is an optimal salt concentration?) while vinegar and medicated oil were winners.
Ahah it seems that my army dad did know something about leeches afterall...he suggested vinegar.
After amassing our bountiful collection, we proceeded to the research centre (GOMBAK) where we would be spending our night at. I guess I should have noted that something was amiss when the van stopped out side a rusty iron gate shrouded in pitch black darkness except for the flickering light from a lone candle near the empty guard house. I could see wild dogs outside. We were surrounded by forest. Apparently, there was no one at the guard house to switch on the light generator when we arrived. So, instead of wasting time on the van waiting for those people to come open up the place we went hunting for yuanting's spiders in the dark. WITH TORCHES AND FREAKING COOL HEADLAMPS CAN????? whahahahaha
THIS was bloody cool!! Macham i go down cave or something and need headlamps.
We caught some Hersideae but I think they were gigantic lor...see until my hair stand. Then we saw quite a few scary wild dogs that looked even freakier when our flashlights shone on them. From far, u just see two glowing orbs of light (reflections from their eyes). SCARY...then as we made our way in the dark, this adorable little puppy began following us whereever we went... KAWAII lor....hai adopt adopt!~ but the puppy is almost always underfoot, so scared i step on it or something....think it kena kicked by the guys accidently a few times. =P
As we searched, we passed by some trees that I suspect was used for praying because there was a trident and red cloth as well as incense on or near them. Under any other circumstances I think I would have probably freaked out or something but somehow, this time I wasn't scared and I was quite intent on just evading mosquitoes and finding the damn spiders...opps sorry yt. Heez.
The BEST part of the trip is still yet to come and it's still the first day...sorry need to stop for now cuz sianz have to do UROPS, think about CORS (bidding modules)and other whatnots...
*************
Yesterday on Christmas eve, YT and me went to support De min by watching his percussion concert (PerCuzShioK) at YMS. 10 bucks! But it was really worth it...AM deeply impressed. So many talented people! Hee we even bot him a chocolate cake to enjoy after his performance. Yup...and that guy say disappointed that it's not the rotten eggs that YT promised him. BLEuh
After that, I left for Raffles place where I met up with Weiqi first. She had just gone for her cousin's ROM and so was pretty dressed up. Okie okie...u are beautiful...no buts...I not so bad like the guys and ur brother-in-law. And no, I'm not drunk....ahhahaha!
My feet was killing me...crap...should have left my sister's shoes alone. The price for beauty.
Anyway, we went to Meridien to watch Vocal consort's caroling. Wt, Flora and Yw met us there. Sigh so tempted to join again but I dun think I'm welcomed and besides I dun wanna half-hearted commit. So fun, I sang all the carols from the sideline. Hee weiqi say that Flora and me are her speaker although sometimes the hua hua speaker will conk out. Whoops.
Hrmm...felt that VC was very tired tho...singing quite halfhearted but I guess can't blame them cuz all of them have been singing the same songs at the same place and the same time for 5 days leh....I last time also sian. But this time is different cuz I did not spend christmas with them. Feeling abit guilty about that but I'm up for new year!! Yan, qq, asn, andy, anyone?
After the caroling, we went to PS for a heavy dinner at Secret Recipe...order some chicken stuffed with tons of cheese, ham and more chicken? SINFUL....i think I better go swim more again...the weight I lose during the trip must not go to waste!!!
Xyz was off caroling somewhere else and as usual would only be able to meet up later (later turned out to be close to midnight at my place). Actually, this year we wanted to be advanturous and go to mount faber but i think, except for Yuanwei, none of us had a clue how to get there. Besides, weiqi was saying that the tree there was not worth going to see. So sian...what to do? Go back to my house and get drunk.
Wt got quite drunk and his whole body turned red and so he took off his shirt. Then he drunk abit the kong bu...suddenly snatch my blanket and demand my ipod....KAoz...suddenly steal my blanket...what if I got nothing on! BLEUH!!!!
Haha anyway....this christmas is one of the best ones I've had for a long time because I finally resolved something that I've been meaning to do for a long time and things look hopeful. So, I can only keep my fingers cross and smile =)
Nobody can spoil my day. Not even if that someone refers me to "eh bitch, fuck off".
I am above it all...ahah I'm a fairy!! Whee!!
haha ohoh!~ yuanwei say my cap is nice...andy say my dressing getting weirder and weirder....yan kept smacking my cap...BLUEAHHHHHHH....wth.
wahahha!! MERRY XMAS to everyone!!

buai buai
Yo peepz, will be gone for about 4 to 5 days to genting n cameron highlands for a field trip....heez will be back on the 20th or the 21st so will give u all updates then. Heard that there will be loads of mosquitoes, leeches and other creepy crawlies that u find in the forest. Going out at nite to hunt to!~ haha even have GPS, headlamps, tons of collecting bottles to house our specimens and even 100% and 75% ethanol masqueraded as plain for in 'ordinary' coke bottles. =P
Bleauh....cya soon

ahah so fun.....i'm happy =P
see my perfect girl and guy....hahaha so pretty and so shuai....i made the dolls using dollmakers: a very cool website! http://elouai.com/doll-makers/new-dollmaker.php
heez...
X'mas is coming...
Sometimes i think that I have given up on trying to live...like how i withdraw because I'm scared. I feel guilty...like I've neglected some of my friends and when I see pictures of them enjoying theirselves without me I get sad. But it can't be help right? People drift apart when circumstances that brought them together in the first place changes. But it's my fault too because I don't make the effort but when I made a decision to quit choir I know that I'd be alienating myself from that group of friends. I don't even know if there'll be a x'mas party this year. It may be true that if i call people, they will come but do they want to? I really dun know. Every year it's the same thing. I would like to meet up with the same people but I want a change because I know that some are quite bored with what we do every year. I really don't know what to think. Feeling quite low.
U probably can tell because I'm not even writing or thinking coherently....and that i'm prob just posting for the sake of posting
whatever
