Today, my paternal grandpa just passed away suddenly. I heard that my cousin who was sitting beside him did not even know that something was wrong. It seems that some of my extended family was celebrating jie yen (my niece)'s birthday and everything seemed normal. When they realised that my grandpa was not right, they called for the ambulance but it was too late. He passed away on the way to the hospital.

I was in nus doing my experiments at the time when i received an sms from my other cousin. My parents did not inform me because they did not want me to worry but i feel that they should have. I'm not a kid anymore.

I saw his body in the tan tock seng mortuary. Although I have never been close to my paternal grandfather, his death was very unexpected. His face was very peaceful...but slightly stretched and they had wrapped him in sheets up to his torso. His mouth was open...the way old people do when they fall alseep.

Still, I"m glad that his death was so quick and peaceful. It could have been worse as he had been recently diagnosed with cancer.

It's really as my mother said...the older generation are slowly going...one by one. A sad truth but this is life.
