A GrEaT TiMe tO SpRiNg cLeAn MoTheR NaTurE...NoT!
Okie, I have very mixed feelings about how this day went and whether I should be thankful to the old gal or not when she decided to screw the fact that it's a SUNday.
Why I should thank Momma nature:
1) If she didn't start raining at 8a.m, effectively cancelling my plans for a great morning in East Coast cycling, I would have been in deep shit with my own royal momma. We were supposed to leave the house at 8.30a.m but as I was up til 3 a.m working on my 1st blog post (
what? I order you to go see it now if u haven't or suffer my wrath!!), naturally I erm...overslept til 10a.m. Even if it weren't raining, all my mum had to do was just wake me so that we could all go right? Sadly, after huffing up 2 flights of stairs to my humble abode, my mum would have been greeted by locked door to which no amount of pounding would wake the sleeping 'beauty' within (
hey, I placed those inverted commas for a reason so backoff...=P) Then, that'll really mark a
GREAT start to my day...
2) I did not have to sweat...princesses should glow =)
3) We had more time and energy to go chalet hunting for my 21st birthday bash! Okie guys, it's confirmed! After much perusal, your royal hinnyness has settled on a 3day/2night 2units duplex chalet at Costa Sands East Coast! It'll be on the 5th,6th and 7th of August so please please keep yourself free and await my invitation =) I think most of you who'll be reading this are invited especially if u are an ex-cssian and/or choir member. If not, it's not course I don't like you but I'm trying hard balance my time with different groups of frens and make sure that there is no akwardness...besides, I think mum and daddy dearest are bent set on calling almost the whole gang of relatives...not that I mind. Afterall, more hongbaos for me right?? KIDDINGZ
4) I found out that Murphy's law was so true. Ever had things were supposed to stay spoiled at least til you get to the repair shop but somehow miraculously recovered just in time for you to make a fool of yourself once u stepped into the shop? Ahhhhh....I think my phone is out to get me. Either that or someone up there loves pratical jokes.
5) I finally got me a mouse! For my laptop though. It's really cool, small and wireless...shiny silver and red! Plus, it was cheap. While i was on a roll, I also got some cables to connect my laptop to my rockin' 42inch plasma tv plus DVD-Rs galore for my DVD recorder cum player!! Don't you just hate me now?
6) While in Harvey Norman, I got educated too. I figured out why my Inuyasha dvds couldn't play on any of my dvd players. Apparently, Panasonic is a real ass that makes players which can only play DVD-R (and even this MUST be panasonic) and DVD-ram but not DVD-rw. The salesguy aptly termed Panosonic 'selfish'. haha. So, like what's the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R? It seems that it's just a format that certain brands support. So, DVD-R is for Panasonic, Sony and dun-noe-what while DVD+R is used for Pioneer and the like. Oh, and while PC can general accept DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD-rw, it draws the line at DVD-ram. And to think that I thought + was just better than -. Sigh, just shoot me now.
Why I should just drag Momma nature to the firing squad:
1) Day2 of my Master plan is ruined!! Argh...no words can express my sorrow.
sniff 2) Try hunting around looking for chalets in the rain and see how happy you'd be.
3) My sandals were soaked!! EEeyUcKs...If there's anything that gets on my nerve is walking around in SLOSHY, GRIMY sandals and not being able to do a thing about it.
4) I did not get to go downtown to shop because we had a late start.
5) I can't get my open my #$%@ mouse to get the #%#@@ batteries in for it to work. Yes, I blame her coz if not there would be no mouse to begin with.
6) This is the worst sin of all. I should probably get her thrown in the shutters without bail, hah! Granted that missing cycling gave my poor stiff limbs a chance to recuperate,
BUT (note the important qualifyer...there is always a 'but') I got caught in NTUC's devious scheme to promote Marine Cove. You see, Coasta Sands had this birthday 3D/2N promotion for all those born in August and I thought I struck gold till I saw the fine print that it was only from Mon-Thurs. So we opted for another more favorable promotion package for weekends only. Problem is, we had to come up with $20 receipt from Marine Cove for every night per room to be eligible for the package. Meaning, with 2 rooms and 2 nights, we had to spend at least $80. So, for the sake of convenience, we decided to just settle it on the spot with a heavy dim sum lunch at Tung Luk (correct spelling? hmm...). Crap.
I rest my case.
